TMS Families,
Today 6th and 7th graders took an elective survey during CSC. This information helps guide the administrative team on which elective courses students are most interested in taking, and, in turn, which classes we offer the following year. The results from today are not official and students will have the opportunity to make their official selection in May via Skyward. A copy of their responses was emailed to students when they submitted their surveys. For information on 8th grade students signing up for their freshman year classes, please see the important information for 8th grade families below.
Congratulations again to our IESA Scholar Attitude nominees, Cooper Govreau, Audra Hagemeier, and Matt Morris, and the TMS winner, Kenzie Becker. Per the Illinois Elementary School Association, “The IESA Scholar Attitude Award honors those students who have maintained a high-academic standard while pursuing participation in their school community through IESA activities. We would like to congratulate the selected students on their focus, passion, and pursuit. We look forward to the leadership they will provide in the future and we are pleased to be a part of their journey." 5 Essentials Survey: The Illinois 5 Essentials Survey window opens tomorrow and runs through March 29th. Students, staff, and parents will have the opportunity to take the survey to share their experiences with Triad Middle School. Parents will receive a separate email tomorrow with a link to the survey. We need at least 20% of TMS parents to take the survey, so please take it soon to help us out! Also, we appreciate hearing students’ input regarding our school, but if for some reason you do not wish for your child to participate in the anonymous survey please fill out the bottom portion of this parent letter and return it to school this week.

Erin’s Law: All Illinois schools are required by law to implement a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse program. Our Erin’s Law lessons and presentations will take place between February 6th-8th. Here is the Erin’s Law letter for you to review. Please follow the instructions if you wish to excuse your child from these lessons by Feb. 5th.

Please check out next year’s school calendar when planning short trips, appointments, and vacations to help us improve attendance at TMS and maximize in person learning opportunities for students and staff.
