I hope you had a safe and fun-filled weekend. Two of our teams enjoyed a great deal of success over the weekend. Congratulations to the TMS Math Team for placing 3rd overall at the MathCounts competition. (Math Team Pic) Congratulations to the TMS Dance Team for placing 1st in both Jazz and Pom at the most recent IDTA Regional Competition in Highland. (Dance Team Pics) A special congratulations to Ryanne Lutz, who was awarded the Rising Star Award by an IDTA judge at the competition over the weekend. Good luck at the state competition next weekend in Springfield! We’d also like to wish our TMS Cheer Team good luck at the IESA State Championships on Wednesday in Peoria. Student Council “Souper” Bowl Week: This is one of our favorite weeks at TMS - “Souper Bowl Week.” All week students and staff members will be participating in school-spirit dress up days, as they bring in cans of soup and other canned food items to benefit the Ministries Unlimited food pantry. As a reminder, students get 1 ticket for a gift card drawing for every 5 cans they bring in. Canned soup is worth two points and all other canned foods are worth 1 point. Please send in cans only, no glass or envelope items. Here are the dress-up days (No face paint on any of the dress up days please! Hats will be allowed if they fit the theme!) for “Souper Bowl Week” at TMS:
Monday, 2/5 - PJ Day - Wear your PJs to school!
Tuesday, 2/6 - Country vs Country Club Day - Wear your best western or gold attire!
Wednesday, 2/7 - Celebrity Look Alike Day - Dress like your favorite celebrity!
Thursday, 2/8 - ‘Merica Day - Let’s see your red, white, and blue!
Friday, 2/9 - Sports Jersey Day - Wear your favorite sports jersey to school!
No face paint on any of the dress up days please! We can’t wait to see all of our students and staff showing their school spirit, while collecting food for those in need. TMS Crusaders are always extremely generous and service-oriented. Thank you in advance!
5 Essentials Survey: The Illinois 5 Essentials Survey window opened last week and runs through March 29th. Students, staff, and parents will have the opportunity to take the survey to share their experiences with Triad Middle School. Parents should use this link to access the survey. We need at least 20% of TMS parents to take the survey, so please take it soon to help us out! We are currently at 12% after just one week. Also, we are planning to have all TMS students take the survey on Thursday morning. If for some reason you do not wish for your child to participate in the anonymous survey please fill out the bottom portion of this parent letter and return it to school by Wednesday.

Please check out next year’s school calendar when planning short trips, appointments, and vacations to help us improve attendance at TMS and maximize in person learning opportunities for students and staff.
