TMS Families,

A message from Special Olympics Illinois: "Each year, schools across Illinois celebrate Respect Week. This celebration is derived from the Spread the Word Campaign that originally worked to promote the end of using derogatory terms to describe people with disabilities. This campaign now focuses on inclusion for people with disabilities. In Illinois, we celebrate Respect for All ā€“ no matter the disability, gender, race, etc. ā€“ each year to promote respect."

Next week, March 4-8th is RESPECT Week and the theme this year is "RESPECT University"! The Mentor Club has been working hard to plan activities and dress up days for the students of TMS to learn more about inclusion.

Dress up days- Monday: Wake Up and Be Respectful (PJ Day) Tuesday: Shine Bright with Respect (Neon Day) Wednesday: We Respect Our Differences (Mismatched Day) Thursday: Don't Keep Respect Hidden (Camo Day) Friday: One School, One Community (Triad Colors)

Please encourage your child to join us in participating in Respect Week!

Last night, our 7th grade volleyball team defeated the #1 seed Mascoutah to win the IESA Triad Regional Championship. Congratulations to the Coach Presson, Coach Parker, and the girls on the championship and advancing to play Edwardsville Lincoln at Sectionals. A special congratulations to our Crusader, Adelyn Sievers, and Mascoutah's Mackenzie Farrell on being selected as the IESA Regional Sportsmanship Award winners!
