TMS Families,

It was a great weekend to be a Crusader! Colin Crouch won the IESA State Wrestling Championship for the 95 lbs weight class. We’ve had Crusaders win SIJHSAA individual and team state championships before, but Colin’s state title is the very first IESA State Championship for Triad Middle School! Colin ended the season with only one loss, which was a medical default (regional championship). He won each and every match that he actually wrestled in. Congratulations to Colin on a remarkable season! Cohen Albatt had an impressive season, as well, but he lost both of his matches at the state finals in DeKalb this past weekend. Congrats to all of our wrestlers, Coach Duhachek, and Coach Willimann on all of their success this year!

Congratulations are also in order for our 7th grade girls volleyball team on their sectional championship and quarterfinal win at the IESA State Volleyball Tournament! The girls won their quarterfinal match on Friday, but lost both of their matches Saturday to finish 4th in their first appearance at the IESA State Tournament. Our 8th grade girls volleyball team lost in the regionals. Congratulations to both teams, Coach Presson, and Coach Parker on an outstanding volleyball season!

Last, but certainly not least, congratulations to our boys bowling team! They earned a spot in the state tournament, which will be held on Saturday, March 16th at St. Clair Bowling in O’Fallon. Good luck, Crusaders!

Young Authors Contest: This year, we had 17 Young Authors entries. The stories were creative, suspenseful, and exciting. The committee members enjoyed reading the stories and had a hard time deciding on the winners. Congratulations to the Young Authors Contest winners. These students will be invited to attend the Madison County Young Authors Conference in April.

Spring Scholastic Book Fair: Our annual TMS Spring Scholastic Book Fair is taking place this week! We could still use some parent volunteers to make the event as smooth and successful as possible. We're using SignUp to organize our upcoming Book Fair Volunteers. Here's how it works in 3 easy steps:

1) Click this link to see our SignUp for the TMS book fair.

2) Review the options listed and choose the spot(s) you would like.

3) Sign up! It's Easy - you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp.

Note: SignUp does not share your email address with anyone. If you prefer not to use your email address, please contact Rebecca Chigas in the library (618) 667-5406 ext. 4530, and she can sign you up manually.

SOAR Information: Sixth grade only after school recreation (SOAR) will be up and running for a Spring session beginning April 2. All sixth grade families are encouraged to read the SOAR parent letter and get registered for the Spring session using this registration form if they are interested. The deadline to sign up is Friday, March 15th!

5 Essentials Survey: Parents should use this link to access the survey. Please consider helping us out by taking the survey if you haven’t already. The surveys are specific to each building, so if you already took one for an elementary school or the high school we would need you to take it again for TMS specifically. Thank you for your support and participation!

Daily Announcements: Would you like to have access to the daily announcements that TMS students hear each morning at school? If so, please go to the “Daily News” section on our TMS Website.

PSAT 8/9 Date Change: Please note our optional PSAT 8/9 test administration will now take place on Monday, April 8th, instead of Wednesday, April 24, due to the rescheduling of our School Improvement Day. Please contact Andrea Morris at andrea.morris@tcusd2.org with questions.

Important Dates/Reminders:

At the January Board of Education meeting, the 2024-2025 Triad District School Calendar was approved by the board. Please check out next year’s school calendar when planning short trips, appointments, and vacations to help us improve attendance at TMS and maximize in person learning opportunities for students and staff. Thank you!

Students, please check the Lost and Found areas that are located in the large & small gyms, along with the table across from the office.  All unclaimed items will be donated soon!
