TMS Families,
On March 12th and 13th, all TMS sixth grade science classes (and a few seventh grade science classes) had the opportunity to view a 10 minute solar eclipse demonstration and a 10 minute solar system lesson with Emily Wonnacot-Stanley from SIUE in a portable planetarium that she set up in the TMS Small Gym. Students enjoyed these presentations a great deal and learned about the upcoming eclipse and solar system, which fits in well with our 6th grade Earth Science curriculum.
Students who earned the 3rd Quarter “Zero Hero” reward had a great time at Friday’s Pop-Party. Over half of our student population was rewarded for being a 3rd Quarter Zero Hero. Congratulations to the 511 TMS students who had no office discipline referrals, no missing work, and missed less than 4 days of school during the third grading period! We are hopeful that even more students will earn the 4th Quarter Zero Hero Reward, which will be a fun outdoor celebration at the end of the school year.
3rd Quarter Report Cards are now official and available to be viewed, downloaded, and printed. These report cards are available in the portfolio section of Skyward as of March 15th. Students and parents can download the report card by following these steps:
On the final step ( Step #3: downloading the report card), be sure to select the 3rd quarter report card that was generated on 3/15/24.
Congratulations to our Triad Middle School musicians on an outstanding showing at the IGSMA Organizational Contest over the weekend at TMS. TMS 7th-8th grade choir rocked it over the weekend at the organizational contest. They were given all First Superior rankings. The TMS choir received two perfect scores (40/40) and one nearly perfect score (39/40). Overall, out of all 3 judges our choir missed just one single point across the board. That is absolutely phenomenal! These choral kids are amazing. Our TMS band students were also extremely impressive at the organizational contest. They delivered an outstanding performance on Saturday! Our band earned an Excellent (First) rating with the three pieces they played for adjudication and clinic. We are very proud of the work that both our band and choral students put in preparing for the contest. Way to go Crusaders!
The boys bowling team finished in 13th place at State. Fisher Buesching finished in 29th place individually out of 105 bowlers. They all did a great job. Congrats to our bowling team and coaches on an outstanding season!
Crusaders Council will be sponsoring a supply drive for Partners for Pets this week (March 18-22). We are accepting monetary donations as well as the following items P4P has requested:
Paper towels
39 gallon trash bags
Small and medium milk bones
Kong toys
Leashes (not retractable)
Medium and large collars
Latex gloves
Dishwashing and laundry detergent
Students should take donations to their homeroom teachers. The homeroom with the most donations will win a surprise when we return from Spring Break! Please contact andrea.morris@tcusd2.org with questions.
As a reminder, there will be no school next week (March 25-29) or Monday, April 1st for Spring Break. School will resume for students and staff on Tuesday, April 2nd. Please stay safe and enjoy your Spring Break!

PSAT 8/9 Date Change: Please note our optional PSAT 8/9 test administration will now take place on Monday, April 8th, instead of Wednesday, April 24, due to the rescheduling of our School Improvement Day. Please contact Andrea Morris at andrea.morris@tcusd2.org with questions.
