TMS Families,
Congratulations to our TMS Band and chorus students on their outstanding performances at the state solo/ensemble contests over the weekend. Our band students earned the following scores: 8 superior solos, 20 first solos, 1 second solo, 3 superior ensembles, 1 first ensemble, Pezz Band - superior, Percussion Ensemble - superior. Our choral students earned the following scores: 2 superior solos, 4 first solos, 2 superior ensembles, 1 first ensemble, and 1 second ensemble. Congratulations to all of our TMS musicians and vocalists for a job well done. We are proud of your hard work and success! Families can see these talented students at their Spring concerts: the band will perform in the Triad High School Gym on May 14th at 7pm, and the chorus will perform in the Triad High School cafetorium on May 16th at 7pm. We look forward to two great Spring concerts to finish out the school year!
Electives: Current sixth grade students are able to view their 7th grade elective choices today, and they will be able to select their electives on Thursday, May 2nd. Please review the options with your child and discuss a plan for their selection that includes a back-up choice if one of their top two choices is full. Please find a complete list of elective course descriptions and details on this guide for students and parents.
This month, under the direction of Mrs. Ellis, our seventh hour 7th/8th grade Art class did a collaborative project with Mrs. Beyer’s Kindergarten class at Silver Creek Elementary School. The kindergartners drew “monsters,” and the 7th/8th grade students created “the monsters” from the drawings. They enjoyed the opportunity to meet with and present these creations to the kindergartners. Check out this “monsters” photo album of their collaborative project.
Cardinal Cookout Day Rescheduled: Last week’s Cardinal Cookout Day was postponed because of the threat of storms. We’re looking forward to seeing all of the Cardinal Red at TMS on Monday, May 6th, as we prepare grilled hot dogs and burgers for lunch during our rescheduled annual Cardinal Day Cookout.
Online Registration and Enrollment for 24-25: Parents are encouraged to register their Triad students for the 2024-2025 school year online now. Please help us with our school planning efforts by doing this as soon as possible instead of waiting until later in the summer. TMS students will be signing up for their preferred electives at the end of this month, so please begin the online enrollment/registration process as soon as possible. More information here.
PSAT 8/9 Score Reports: The College Board should release PSAT 8/9 score reports no later than May 2 for those 8th graders who took part in our optional test administration on April 8. Students will need to create a College Board account to access. They can do so HERE. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Andrea Morris at andrea.morris@tcusd2.org with any questions.

Summer Camp Opportunities: In addition to the outstanding summer sports camps that Triad offers, we have also been made aware of the following educational camp opportunities away from the Triad District.

This opportunity is available to our 8th grade class, who are headed to THS in the Fall.
June 10-12 - Middle School Anatomy Camp - AIMS (Adventures in Math & Science) @ St. Louis University

2024-2025 TMS Fall Sports Tryouts begin in May for Cheer and Dance and continue at the end of July and/or beginning of August for Softball, Cross Country, Football, and Baseball. Please check out the information in the embedded link and contact the coach directly with any questions.
At the January Board of Education meeting, the 2024-2025 Triad District School Calendar was approved by the board. Please check out next year’s school calendar when planning short trips, appointments, and vacations to help us improve attendance at TMS and maximize in person learning opportunities for students and staff.
