Crusader Nation,

I hope that all of the Crusader moms had a relaxing and enjoyable Mother’s Day weekend! We are very fortunate to have a tremendous group of TMS moms supporting our middle school students, and several of our staff members are moms as well. I hope that each of you had a Happy Mother’s Day yesterday!

The countdown is officially on. Students and teachers have 9 school days left after today. Students should be reminded to finish the year on a strong, positive note. Completing and turning in assignments on time this week, along with making smart behavioral choices, will allow students to enjoy the last week of school with their teachers and classmates. Receiving zeroes for assignments not turned in may result in failing year end grades, which could result in a summer school assignment. In addition, any disciplinary consequences that are outstanding at the end of the school year will need to be served at the beginning of the new school year, whether students are returning to TMS or heading to THS.

Be sure to check out the pictures from the last two weeks. The May 8th-13th pictures contain a few pictures and videos from the outstanding band concert that was held on Thursday and a few pictures from this past weekend’s SIJHSAA State Track & Field Meet that was held in Carterville. The Crusaders were well represented and came home with some medals. Congrats to the following:

  • Zane Meier - State Champion - Pole Vault - SIJHSAA State Meet Record / TMS Record 12’7”

  • The 4x200m relay team placed 7th. (Nathan Raka, Brock O'Toole, Isreal Rodgers, Zane Meier)

  • The 4x100m relay team placed 8th. (Brock O'Toole, Isreal Rodgers, Henry Parker, Nathan Ratka)

Congratulations to our TMS Bands on their outstanding performances and our TMS Track & Field Teams on their impressive accomplishments this season! We are #TriadProud of you!

If, for some reason, you do not want your child to attend the 8th grade celebration day at the park, please contact the main office by Wednesday, May 24th!

Wait Until 8th initiative-  delaying the smartphone until 8th grade…my child already has a smartphone, what now? Under "Digital Training" check out “Parental Controls and App Safety” to help your child navigate their smartphone safely, appropriately, and moderately.
