TMS Families,

I hope you had a great Labor Day weekend. We had an exciting and action-packed four day week at TMS, which included our home football opener last night and lots of MAP testing. It’s been great to see so many of our Crusaders putting forth their best effort in our classrooms and on our playing fields. Please be reminded of how important regular attendance and work completion are for success. As we near the midway point of the first grading period, teachers and office staff have noticed that some students are getting behind on their assignments. Getting behind on work typically has to do with one of two things: excessive absences or lack of effort. If you feel like your child is struggling to stay caught up despite attending school regularly and giving their best effort, please be in communication with their teacher(s) early and often, rather than waiting until the end of the quarter or even parent-teacher conferences. Parents may utilize Skyward to check attendance, discipline, and grades as often as they’d like. There is also a way to set up notification alerts for disciplinary entries, missing work, and low scores on assignments, quizzes, and tests. Please reach out to one of our teachers or counselors if you need help navigating Skyward or Canvas.

Pictures from the Month of September

Some action shots from the past week are included in this section. We’ll add more pictures to the September Album each week. When the calendar switches over to October, we’ll start a new album to share in our weekly emails.

Additional Tips for Success at TMS

  • Digital Citizenship - Students at TMS have access to amazing technology and digital curriculum via their Chromebook. Use of the district provided device is intended for acceptable educational purposes only. TMS administration are provided with alerts for any type of unacceptable use via LINEWIZE. Misuse can result in administration taking the device or limiting usage. If you question what is acceptable please contact the Office or classroom teacher.

  • Cell Phones - All cell phones must be turned off before entering the building and should be stored in the students’ lockers during the ENTIRE DAY. Staff members will confiscate and turn cell phones into the office if they are seen being used during the school day.  A notification will be sent to inform the parent.

  • Dress Code - Students should come to school appropriately dressed. Clothing which is revealing or suggestive may not be worn.  The following clothing items continue to be addressed at TMS - Camis, halter tops, crop tops, short shorts, short skirts, and skirts with shorts visible under the skirt. Clothing should not display bare stomachs, cleavage, backs, sides or any type of undergarment.  Students will be asked to change into a PE uniform, visit the Crusader Closet, or call home. If parents need financial assistance getting their child a PE uniform, please contact the main office or one of our guidance counselors.
