State Bound Softball

Friday, September 22, 2023

TMS Families,

Good luck to our Crusaders softball and baseball teams tomorrow! After some changes with the schedule for the IESA State Tournament, our softball girls are scheduled to play their state quarterfinal game at 3:30 tomorrow in Normal. The baseball boys will be competing for an IESA Sectional Championship at 11am at the Triad HS Varsity Turf Field. Congratulations to both teams on their outstanding seasons and good luck to our coaches and athletes as they continue their postseason play tomorrow.

Safety Concern: We sent a separate message yesterday via email and text to share our continued safety concerns as a result of cars entering and exiting the East Staff Parking Lot where buses enter and exit the school lot each morning. Today’s traffic and parking lot situation was much better, so thank you for following the revised directions on morning drop offs. As a reminder or for those who missed the previous email, in the interest of student safety, please try to use the circle drive in the front of the school for morning drop offs. We have revised our morning procedures to allow for an option for parents who feel that they absolutely must use the East entrance in the mornings. If you choose to use that entrance, we would like to ask that you drop off near the sidewalk on the West side of the cones and then use the circle drive to head back towards the East entrance/exit. The circle drive is one way, but there is enough room for two lanes of morning traffic. The lane near the sidewalk is for drop offs along the sidewalk and a separate passing lane for those who have already dropped off may also be utilized as long as you use caution when merging with other vehicles. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

TriadStrong is taking t-shirt orders for the October 20th Pink Out Football Game at Collinsville High School.

Pictures from the Month of September

Some action shots from the past week are included in this section. Congratulations to our girls softball team for winning the IESA 3A Regional Championship! Softball pictures are included in the album. I was also able to include a photo of everyone’s favorite stoplight this morning! We’ll add more pictures to the September Album each week. When the calendar switches over to October, we’ll start a new album to share in our weekly emails.

Last Call - SOAR (Sixth Grade Only After-school Recreation):

All sixth grade parents should read the SOAR letter that was emailed out on Sunday, August 27th. To sign your sixth grader up for the Fall session, please complete and return a SOAR registration form along with the $50 fee. Next week is the last week for Fall SOAR sign-ups.

8th Grade Dance: Each year parents in the community organize and host an 8th grade dance somewhere in the community for TMS 8th graders. This event is not a school-sponsored event, so there are no school staff chaperones at the event. I’ve been asked to share with 8th grade parents that those who wish to be involved with planning the event either join the Facebook group link or contact Lauren Missey (lmissey08@hotmail.com) or Stephanie Jaros (bluesfrk7@gmail.com) for more information. Thanks for understanding that this event will not be held at TMS, and it is not a school-sponsored event.

2023-2024 TMS Yearbooks are discounted to $22 now through September 22nd. After that, the yearbooks will return to the normal price of $25. Check out the Josten’s Yearbook link to order your yearbook today before the prices go up. If any families have any back to school pictures or if their child is playing in any TMS sports that they have action shots from, please send pictures to tmsyearbook@tcusd2.org
