Congratulations to our track & field athletes and coaches on some outstanding performances over the weekend at the IESA Sectional Meet (14 schools participated) in Edwardsville. Here are the TMS State Qualifiers:
Emmy Goins - Sectional Champion 7th Grade 1600 Meter Run. State Qualifier. #2 All-Time at TMS.
Kaitlyn Pokorny - Sectional Champion 7th Grade 100 Meter Hurdles. State Qualifier.
Leah Patterson - Sectional Champion 8th Grade Discus. State Qualifier. #4 All-Time at TMS.
Addison Williams - Sectional Champion 7th Grade High Jump. State Qualifier. #5 All-Time at TMS.
Jayden Rodgers - Sectional Champion 7th Grade Pole Vault. State Qualifier. #7 All-Time at TMS.
Andrew Myers, Aiden Martens, Landyn Todd, Caleb Carpenter (Alternates - Holloway & Powell) - Sectional Champions 8th Grade 4x100. State Qualifiers. #1 All-Time at TMS.
Bella Riney, Carli Crews, Kelsey Zarzeck, Kaitlyn Pokorny (Alternates - Armstrong & Dinsmore) - 3rd place, Girls 7th Grade 4x100 Meter Relay. State Qualifiers. #7 All-Time at TMS.
Aiden Martens - 3rd place, Boys 8th Grade 400 Meter Dash. State Qualifier. New School Record - #1 All-Time at TMS.
Jackson Phelps - 2nd place, 7th Grade Boys Pole Vault. State Qualifier. #8 All-Time at TMS.
Andrew Myers - 3rd place, 8th Grade Boys Pole Vault. State Qualifier. #5 All-Time at TMS.
Finn Moss - 6th place, 8th Grade Boys Pole Vault. State Qualifier. #6 All-Time at TMS.
Good luck to all of our track & field state qualifiers, as they travel to compete at the IESA State Championships in East Peoria this Friday and Saturday! We’ll give our athletes a Crusaders Culture send-off at 8:45 on Friday morning.
American Heart Association: I received the following message from the CEO of the American Heart Association - “On behalf of the American Heart Association, thank you very much for your school’s donation of $1,808.00 from your school's recent Kids Heart Challenge (KHC)/American Heart Challenge event. Your efforts make a tremendous impact and help millions of Americans through increased awareness of cardiovascular disease, lifesaving scientific research and critically needed education efforts.” Congrats to our TMS students who participated in this event during their PE classes, and thank you to each family who helped contribute to the successful 2024 campaign.
Online Registration and Enrollment for 24-25: Parents are encouraged to register their Triad students for the 2024-2025 school year online now. Please help us with our school planning efforts by doing this as soon as possible instead of waiting until later in the summer. TMS students will be signing up for their preferred electives at the end of this month, so please begin the online enrollment/registration process as soon as possible. More information here.
PSAT 8/9 Score Reports: The College Board released PSAT 8/9 score reports last week for those 8th graders who took part in our optional test administration on April 8. Students will need to create a College Board account to access their scores. They can do so HERE. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Andrea Morris at andrea.morris@tcusd2.org with any questions.
Our TMS students performed very well on the PSAT, as they scored well above the state average! The score range on the PSAT 8/9 is 240-1440 (unlike the SAT where the highest score is 1600). Our average total was 983 compared to the state average of 823. 81% of TMS students met the benchmark for both sections of the test (meaning they are on track for college/career readiness at this time). State-wide, only 34% of students met both benchmarks. Way to go, Crusaders!

Summer Camp Opportunities: In addition to the outstanding summer sports camps that Triad offers, we have also been made aware of the following educational camp opportunities away from the Triad District.
The Madison County Regional Office of Education has some great summer camps available for students in June and July. Please see below for registration and more information.

2024-2025 TMS Fall Sports Tryouts begin in May for Cheer and Dance and continue at the end of July and/or beginning of August for Softball, Cross Country, Football, and Baseball. Please check out the information in the embedded link and contact the coach directly with any questions.
At the January Board of Education meeting, the 2024-2025 Triad District School Calendar was approved by the board. Please check out next year’s school calendar when planning short trips, appointments, and vacations to help us improve attendance at TMS and maximize in person learning opportunities for students and staff.
