Triad Crusader

Friday, Aug 2, 2024

TMS Families,

Ready or not…it’s almost back to school time! While it feels like summer break always goes by too fast for students and staff, we are so excited to welcome our Crusaders back to school for the 2024-2025 school year.

Please read the information contained in this communication carefully as it contains the answers to many commonly asked back-to-school questions. Your first opportunity to get a look at the school and walk the hallways will be this coming Tuesday, August 6th, from 3pm -7pm, and August 8th, from 12pm - 4pm. Students who attend should be prepared to have their picture taken (picture order form) in the small gym for student ID badges and the 2024-2025 yearbook. For those not able to attend, there will be a make-up picture day on Friday, August 16th during the school day.

Student Registration and Fees

  • If you have not already done so, please click on the following Online Registration Link to complete the registration process for your student.  As a reminder, students must be registered to receive their class placement or middle/high school schedule before August 5th.

  • Triad student fees are due by August 30th.  If you have not paid fees yet for the 2024-25 school year, you can click this link for information about how to pay student fees through the Skyward Family Access Portal.

Open Building Event:

On Tuesday, August 6th and 8th the Triad Middle School hallways will be open for students to check out their classroom locations and put school supplies in their lockers. Please print a copy of your child’s schedule to bring with you to the open building event or plan on accessing it on your phone. The schedules should be available for students and parents to view in Skyward on the evening of August 5th for those who are enrolled. Schedules can be found following this link and using the Skyward Family Portal

The office assigned locker numbers and locker combinations which can be found on the students’ schedules. Feel free to test out your locker combination and place any necessary school supplies in your lockers. Triad H.S. and TMS Student Council students will be available to help during Open Building with any locker issues.  This would also be a great time for parents/guardians to drop off any medications, physicals, dental exam or eye exam forms in the nurse’s office. Our school nurse, Mrs. Becker, will be available to take any medications or forms during the open building.

Physicals / Important Health Services Forms & Links:

Please check out the Triad CUSD#2 Health Services page on the Triad website for important reminders on physicals, dental and vision forms, and other helpful forms and links. While all 6th graders need to show proof of a physical exam on a state approved physical exam form, all TMS students who plan on participating in a Fall Sport will need a current physical (less than 395 days old) in order to participate. Please see Nurse Becker with any questions.

School Supplies & P.E. T-Shirts:

The 2024-2025 school supply lists for TMS can be found here 24-25 TMS Supply List.pdf.  All TMS students will have P.E. on their 2024-2025 schedule, regardless of other electives. Students will be required to purchase Triad P.E. shirts with their names on the back for the 24-25 school year. They will also be required to wear tennis shoes at all times. Triad P.E. shirts are available at many area vendors. All physical education students will be required to wear a standard uniform consisting of the following: a Triad P.E. T-shirt, (with last name on back), black shorts or athletic pants (acceptable length), athletic shoes (please avoid Crocs, slides, HeyDude, etc..) and socks. Only Triad Physical Education T-shirts with the student’s last name imprinted on the back will be accepted.  Approved P.E. shirts are sold at the following locations (Gateway Impression, BJ Printables, and Sew Time have online ordering links attached):

Student Drop off & Pick-up:

When dropping your child off in the morning, please use the circle drive in front of the school. We ask that he or she exit the vehicle and walk along the sidewalk to the front entrance of the school. Please pull as far forward as you can to help more students exit the vehicle in a timely manner. The school buses will be dropping students off on the east side of the building near the large gym. Please do not drop students off in the staff parking lot, this is not safe and creates congestion for our buses. Just a reminder that traffic on Route 40 in the mornings can be heavy at times, please be patient and understanding.

When picking your child up in the afternoon, please park in the parking lot on the east side of the building near the large gym. The school buses will be picking up students in the front circle drive. Please do not use the circle drive for pickup after 1:20, bus arrival begins and parents/guardians are limited access to the main parking lot entrance.
