TMS Families,

We have had a wonderful start to the school year, and I feel truly blessed to have such great students and staff that make TMS a fantastic place to be. Thank you to all the parents and guardians for your support during these first couple of weeks; we appreciate you tremendously.

Fall sports are going strong with lots of success, and I’m excited to share that we will begin MAP testing next week. September will be a busy month as we all settle back into our routines and make our way through the first quarter.

Thank you for your continued support!

IAR Reports:

Your child's Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) scores will be arriving home today. Each child who took the IAR test last year should have received their reports in CSC today. The IAR is a state-mandated assessment designed to measure your child's proficiency in English Language Arts and Mathematics, aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards. This assessment provides valuable insights into your child's academic progress and helps us tailor instruction to better meet their individual needs. The results offer a comprehensive overview of your child's strengths and areas that might need additional attention, assisting both teachers and parents in guiding their educational journey. Please take some time to review the scores and discuss them with your child. If you have any questions or would like further clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you for your ongoing support in your child's education.

Student Council - Crusader Attire!! - LINK ENDS TODAY!!!

The Student Council spirit wear fundraiser is live and ready for orders! A paper copy will be sent home next week. In the meantime, you can order using this link: https://shop.avhinkandvinyl.com/tms_crusaders/shop/home  All orders are due Friday, August 30.

Student Fees:

Triad student fees are due by August 30th.  If you have not paid fees yet for the 2024-25 school year, you can click this link for information about how to pay student fees through the Skyward Family Access Portal.

Traffic Update:

IDOT will begin bridge repairs on Illinois 4 at U.S. 40 weather permitting Tuesday, September 3rd. Temporary traffic signals will maintain two-way traffic for the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of November. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone and detour route.

TMS Student Handbook, Parent Signature:

Over the last week students have reviewed the handbook and TMS expectation in CSC. The expectations have also been communicated over Morning Announcements each day as a reminder.

An effort has been made to create rules and procedures that will guide students in becoming effective, responsible citizens of the school community. These handbooks contain valuable information relating to school procedures and policies.

Please click on the Triad Middle School Student/Parent Handbook link.

Please go to the family access in Skyward and click on the tile indicating that you have been provided the Triad Middle School Student/Parent Handbook.

Student Drop off & Pick-up:

When dropping your child off in the morning, please use the circle drive in front of the school. We ask that he or she exit the vehicle and walk along the sidewalk to the front entrance of the school. Please pull as far forward as you can to help more students exit the vehicle in a timely manner. The school buses will be dropping students off on the east side of the building near the large gym. Please do not drop students off in the staff parking lot, this is not safe and creates congestion for our buses. Just a reminder that traffic on Route 40 in the mornings can be heavy at times, please be patient and understanding.

Morning Drop-off Route Early Bird Band Drop-off

When picking your child up in the afternoon, please park in the parking lot on the east side of the building near the large gym. The school buses will be picking up students in the front circle drive. Please do not use the circle drive for pickup after 1:20, bus arrival begins and parents/guardians are limited access to the main parking lot entrance.

Afternoon Dismissal

What if my child forgets something?

A drop-off location is located in the Main Lobby. Ring the buzzer, let us know you are dropping off something for your student. Put your child’s name on the item. The item will be delivered to the student.

I need to pick up my child…

An approved pickup person will buzz into the building. Use the Chromebook in the Main Lobby to enter the student information. This information will be sent to the Main Office secretaries. The student will be called and sent out to you. Please plan accordingly, this can take a few minutes. Please wait in the lobby area.

Physicals / Important Health Services Forms & Links:

Please check out the Triad CUSD#2 Health Services page on the Triad website for important reminders on physicals, dental and vision forms, and other helpful forms and links.
