I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued dedication to our students' safety.

As we approach dismissal time, I ask for your assistance in maintaining a safe environment in the parking lot. Please be aware of students exiting the building and heading to their vehicles. It’s important to take your time when exiting and to give students the right of way. Allow them to cross safely before pulling out, especially since we have a large number of car riders and student athletes navigating through the parking lot on their way to practices.

Your cooperation is vital to keeping everyone safe during this busy time. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

THS Home Football Games:

Last week at the Triad Football Game we had numerous reports of students exhibiting concerning behaviors, and some being escorted to their parents. I’m asking that you please follow-up with your child if they plan to attend the football game tonight. It is a very busy place, and a great opportunity for our students to socialize and show their school spirit. We need their help in improving behavior in the bleachers and mezzanine area.  Please ask them to respect the fans around them, the participants (players, cheerleaders, dancers, band) and follow the expectations to attend. We have amazing kids at Triad Middle School, but unfortunately, if the behaviors do not improve in the middle school section, students will not be allowed to sit alone, they will have to stay with parents/guardians.

Please note that the following rules are in place and will be enforced by Triad High School Administration and Troy Police.

  • Middle School students have the option of sitting with their parents or on the bleachers at the south end of the grandstand in the designated Middle School Section.

  • All school rules apply when attending an event at the football stadium

  • Wear your school ID.

  • Elementary-age students must be in the presence of a parent or an adult over 25 years of age at all times. You cannot bring your younger siblings to the game with you, unless your parents/guardians are present.

  • Absolutely no footballs.

  • Once you leave the stadium you will not be allowed back in.

  • No rough-housing, inappropriate language, or playing on the grass hill will be allowed. You will be asked to call a parent and be picked up.

CSC - Addressing “threats” and social media

  • Staff spent time during the School Improvement Day preparing two days of lessons that reflect on making dangerous statements, threats, and jokes at school that make students/staff feel unsafe.

  • Thursday and Friday we dedicated our entire CSC time to discussions regarding how to report, the process of “See something, Hear something, Say Something, and being an “upstander” not a “bystander”. Teachers used the same presentation materials to keep the information consistent for all students.

  • Students also had time to converse and share with adults. Our ultimate goal is to continue to convey our job as a school family is to keep everyone safe at TMS.

TMS SOAR Program: 6th grade students

We would like to encourage your child(ren) to become involved in the TMS SOAR Program. The purpose of SOAR (Sixth Only After-School Recreation) is to provide students with the opportunity to participate in a variety of recreational activities after the regular school day ends as an extension of the school’s physical education program. Participation in SOAR will not only give your child(ren) the chance to be active, it will also give them ample opportunities to make new friends and demonstrate such qualities as good sportsmanship, cooperation, and leadership in a supervised and structured environment.

The TMS SOAR Program will run a Fall session starting in October as well as another session in the Spring. They usually meet 2 days a week (either on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays) after school from 1:55-3:30pm. Fall session dates are October 7, 9, 16, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31, November 6, and 7.  Students will be eligible to ride the 4:15 activity bus to predetermined local stops if they cannot be picked up at 3:30pm. The cost for each session is $50 per child. Forms will be available early September in PE classes, online, or in the main office for the first session. Sports/Extracurricular Activities:

  • The middle school sports season is off to a successful beginning. Our girls softball team is currently undefeated and is playing for a Sectional title on Saturday for the right to go to state. The softball teams at both levels won the conference title.

  • Baseball is gearing up for the postseason. The eighth grade team is the number two seed in their own regional. The seventh grade is still in contention for the conference title.

  • Our football team is under the direction of a new coaching staff of EJ Rahar and Ted Cange. The boys are learning the game at a rapid rate and giving the coaches their absolute best efforts.

  • The cross country team is also having a successful season. They just currently hosted a 35 team event this past week.  They are looking to do damage in the postseason coming up at the beginning of October.

  • Our dance and cheerleading teams are in the beginning of practice preparing for their competition season in the winter.
