TMS Soar - 6th Grade: Register here!!
We would like to encourage your child(ren) to become involved in the TMS SOAR Program. The purpose of SOAR (Sixth Only After-School Recreation) is to provide students with the opportunity to participate in a variety of recreational activities after the regular school day ends as an extension of the school’s physical education program. Participation in SOAR will not only give your child(ren) the chance to be active, it will also give them ample opportunities to make new friends and demonstrate such qualities as good sportsmanship, cooperation, and leadership in a supervised and structured environment.
The TMS SOAR Program will run a Fall session starting at the end of September. They usually meet 2 days a week (either on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays) after school from 1:55-3:30pm. Fall session dates are September 29, October 1, 6, 8, 14, 15, 20, 22, 29, and 30. Students will be eligible to ride the 4:15 activity bus to predetermined local stops if they cannot be picked up at 3:30pm. The cost for each session is $50 per child. Forms will be available in PE classes, online, or in the main office for the session.
If you have any questions about the TMS SOAR Program, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Vickrey.

Student Returning to School:
If your son or daughter has an appointment or is coming in late to school, please know that we can save you extra time - you do not have to come in to sign them back into school. Parents/Guardians only need to enter the building to sign-out a student. We hope this helps, we know your time is valuable and we will get them right to class upon return.
TMS Middle School Yearbook - click this link to order!
Yearbooks are on sale for the low price of $22.00. Prices will increase as the school year progresses. Also, yearbook staff is eager for your back to school pictures or sports pictures. Please send any pictures you would like to share with the yearbook staff to tmsyearbook@tcusd2.org.
Student Drop off & Pick-up:
When dropping your child off in the morning, please use the circle drive in front of the school. We ask that he or she exit the vehicle and walk along the sidewalk to the front entrance of the school. Please pull as far forward as you can to help more students exit the vehicle in a timely manner, nearly 8-10 vehicles can be unloading at once along the front walk. The school buses will be dropping students off on the east side of the building near the large gym. Please do not drop students off in the staff parking lot, this is not safe and creates congestion for our buses. It is dangerous for students walking in between cars and crossing in front of buses, this is not a short cut. Just a reminder that traffic on Route 40 in the mornings can be heavy at times, please be patient and understanding.
Morning Drop-off Route Early Bird Band Drop-off
When picking your child up in the afternoon, please park in the parking lot on the east side of the building near the large gym. We ask that you stay in your or near your vehicle and do not wait outside of the exit. We have nearly a large population of students that will need to exit the building. The school buses will be picking up students in the front circle drive. Please do not use the circle drive for pickup after 1:20, bus arrival begins and parents/guardians are limited access to the main parking lot entrance.
Water bottles & Lunch Boxes:
All water bottles must be close top, spill-proof. No squirt bottles or straws are allowed. Please make sure to put your name on your water bottle - it makes it much easier to get to the owner.
Transportation:
Bus transportation information will be displayed in Skyward under the Transportation Tile. If you have any questions about transportation, please contact the Transportation Department at 667-5432. Please double check times as some adjustments may have been made due to new enrollments or late registrations.
Guest Management Procedures:
To enhance safety, we have implemented a new guest management system. Visitors entering beyond the foyer of TMS will check in using the electronic kiosks at the main entrance. A drivers license will be needed to complete sign-in.
Dress Code:
Per the TMS Handbook - the dress code at TMS is followed to maintain a focus on learning.
Shoes must be worn at all times, no slippers.
Clothing which is revealing or suggestive may not be worn.
Clothing, book bags, folders, notebooks, and other materials with vulgar, profane, or suggestive messages or pictures of illegal substances, alcoholic beverages, or tobacco products are also inappropriate.
All clothing should be worn appropriately and should not hang free or sag in such a way as to be suggestive.
Tube tops, camis, halter tops, see-through clothing, short shorts, or items displaying bare stomachs (crop tops), cleavage, backs, sides, and/or off the shoulder garments are considered inappropriate for school.
Jeans with holes which reveal undergarments are not to be worn.
Hats, hoods, bandanas, caps, rubber bands, hairnets, animal ears/headbands, headphones/earbuds and combs are not permitted.
Chains, metal or plastic spikes, tails, or any other apparel which could be a safety concern are prohibited.
Students who are not dressed appropriately will be asked to change into their PE clothes or parents will be contacted to make arrangements for a change of attire before the student attends other classes.
Bags/Stuffed Animals/Toys:
During the school day students are not allowed to travel the halls with bags or backpacks. This includes fanny packs, large purses, messenger bags, etc.. This is part of the TMS Handbook and due to the crowded halls it creates safety concerns. We have also had to provide reminders to students about bringing toys or stuffed animals to class, while we understand some special circumstances do present, we are more than willing to supply school appropriate fidgets and comfort items for the school day.
Student Fees:
Triad student fees are due by August 30th. If you have not paid fees yet for the 2024-25 school year, you can click this link for information about how to pay student fees through the Skyward Family Access Portal.
Physicals / Important Health Services Forms & Links:
Please check out the Triad CUSD#2 Health Services page on the Triad website for important reminders on physicals, dental and vision forms, and other helpful forms and links. While all 6th graders need to show proof of a physical exam on a state approved physical exam form, all TMS students who plan on participating in a Fall Sport will need a current physical (less than 395 days old) in order to participate. Please see Nurse Becker with any questions.
School Supplies & P.E. T-Shirts:
